    Do Adults Get Separation Anxiety?

    Do adults get separation anxiety? The answer is yes! I am right now experiencing separation anxiety. I have my girls away for almost two weeks. The feeling is real and I have been dealing with it for two full days now. You get a feeling of being left alone and nervousness. (anxiety) I am so used to having my baby girls around me age 11 and 13 everyday. Now, I don’t know what to do with myself!

    Who am I going to cater to now, besides my husband? I have a whole two weeks to myself with no kids, which I am not used to that! I still may or may not experience it with my older daughter age 19. haha. Admittingly, I cry every time she leaves back to school or when she ventures out on her own. The girls are independent and this is something I might as well get used to.

    Overcoming Separation Anxiety

    These Twelve strategies have helped me to overcome my fear of being separated from my kids, and maybe they can help you too.

    1. I pinch and remind myself that it is only a temporary leave. My girls will be back feeling refreshed and having an experience.
    2. I want them to be happy and I know they are… so its okay.
    3. Their bedroom door gets shut so I do not have to stare at their messy rooms and wish they were here.
    4. keep myself busy, busy, busy!
    5. I stalk their social media so I can see what they are up to. I feel better already! haha!
    6. Staying positive and visioning happy days is also key!
    7. I try to give them their space and cut down on my texts and phone calls!
    8. Being outdoors also helps me to calm my nerves when I’m feeling fearful.
    9. I stay downstairs away from their spaces (theater room) so I don’t get reminded of them!
    10. Do not count the days!
    11. A warm bubble bath with soothing music also helps me to relax
    12. Last but least, for a peaceful nights sleep, I use my Urpower Essential Oil Diffuser, which helps me to sleep calmly with a sweet ambiance of lighting.     Top 10 Stress Busters For Peace Of Mind

    These are the top 10 stress busters I do whenever I start to feel stressed out.

    1. I cant figure everything out, sometimes I get lost searching on the web for answers! This tends to stress me out…So, I put my laptop down and get myself moving whether it be making a snack and getting hot green tea, OR even taking a walk outside to get the mail. I may feed the dog, play with the dog, or put my feet in the pool water. Get your blood flow moving and it will get your mind off whatever it was that stressed you out. You need to move your body baby!
    2. Get outdoors and look at nature. Invigorate your senses with the trees, birds chirping or squirrels playing. Look up at the sky! It will captivate and help to relieve any negative vibes. Breathe in a few breaths and look at all the abundance around you. You are blessed, and it could be worse. Take a moment to reflect and be thankful.
    3. Put your favorite music playlists on and start dancing! Your favorite tunes will get you in the mood to dance and sing! Get happy.
    4. Do some breathing exercises in through the nose and out the mouth. Breathe in positivity and release negativity. I hold each breathe for about 5 seconds. You can do longer if you like. These breathing techniques will send more oxygen to your brain and boost your endorphins.
    5. Write a list of 5 things you are grateful for and meditate for a minute or two on each one and feel good about it. Hold your hand to your heart while doing this.
    6. Take your supplements!
    7. Vision the rest of the day how you want it to end. You can vision a wonderful evening with your husband or family and or vision a success and a beautiful tomorrow.
    8. Exercise! Do a you tube workout video to make yourself feel good.
    9. Put a mask and do a facial! Your skin is beautiful and it matters!
